Wolf Appliance Repair
Wolf is the cooking half of the Sub-Zero group. It makes ranges, ovens, cooktops and ventilation — no refrigeration, no dishwashers.
The red knobs are the signature, but the engineering point is the sealed dual-stacked burner: a high output for searing and a genuinely low simmer from the same burner, which is unusual and which depends on both stages staying clean.
We service the Wolf cooking line across Chicagoland, and the Sub-Zero refrigeration and Cove dishwashers that usually sit in the same kitchen.
The Wolf line we service
Dual Fuel and Gas ranges
Gas surface with an electric oven, or gas throughout. The dual-fuel split means a working cooktop with a dead oven is common and normal to diagnose separately.
range and stove repair ›Rangetops and cooktops
Sealed dual-stacked gas burners, induction, and electric. Simmer failure on a gas burner usually traces to the low-stage ports rather than to the valve.
cooktop repair ›M Series and E Series wall ovens
Convection fan faults, door latch failure after self-clean, and temperature drift. The heavier Wolf doors put real load on hinges over time.
oven repair ›Convection steam and speed ovens
These add a water circuit to an oven: reservoir, pump, and scale from hard water. Descaling neglect is a leading cause of steam-oven service calls in the Chicago area.
oven repair ›Microwaves and warming drawers
Drawer microwaves and warming drawers that no longer hold temperature.
warming drawer repair ›Ventilation and outdoor grills
Wolf hoods, downdraft ventilation and outdoor gas grills.

What Wolf owners should know
Precise testing of gas burners, igniters, electric elements, and spark systems.
Lost simmer is a burner-cleaning problem far more often than a valve problem
The dual-stacked burner delivers its low setting through a separate set of small ports. Those clog first. A burner that roars fine but will no longer hold a low flame is usually telling you the simmer ring is blocked, not that the gas valve has failed.
Self-clean is the most common trigger for a wall oven service call
The cycle runs the cavity far hotter than cooking. Latches, door switches and control boards that were marginal often fail during or just after it. If your oven died right after a self-clean, say so when you book — it narrows the diagnosis immediately.
Steam ovens need descaling on Chicago-area water
Local water hardness scales the steam circuit faster than the manual's default interval assumes. Weak steam, longer heat-up and error states around the water system frequently resolve with a proper descale rather than a part.
Deciding whether a Wolf unit is still worth fixing? Our repair-or-replace guide names the one repair that ends each appliance — and on a built-in that line sits much further out.

Wolf repair — frequently asked questions
Do you repair Wolf refrigerators?
Wolf does not make refrigeration — that is Sub-Zero, its sister brand, and we service those. Wolf covers cooking: ranges, rangetops, cooktops, ovens, ventilation and grills.
My Wolf burner lights but will not simmer. What is it?
Most often the low-stage ports on the dual-stacked burner are blocked. It is one of the less expensive repairs on the range and does not usually involve the gas valve.
Can you service a Wolf outdoor grill?
Yes. Ignition faults, burner corrosion and uneven heat are the usual calls, and they are seasonal — book early in spring if you can.
