Cove Appliance Repair

Cove is the newest of the three Sub-Zero group brands and the least understood. It makes dishwashers, and only dishwashers.

Launched in 2018 to complete the Sub-Zero and Wolf kitchen, Cove is a small line — a 24-inch and an 18-inch model — built to the same service-life standard as its sister brands rather than to a mass-market price.

Because the brand is young and the installed base is small, many general appliance companies have never worked on one. The parts, the rack architecture and the control system are not shared with the volume brands.

What we service

24-inch dishwashers

The main line, panel-ready or stainless. Common calls: drainage faults, poor drying, door seal leaks and racks that no longer glide.

18-inch dishwashers

The compact model, often installed as a second unit in an island or butler's pantry. Same systems, tighter service access.

Panel-ready installations

Custom door panels change the door's weight and balance. Sagging, poor closure and seal wear frequently trace to panel fitment rather than to a hinge fault.

What Cove owners should know

Wash, Spray & Circulation Systems — Cove repair
Wash, Spray & Circulation Systems
Diagnosis of circulation motors, spray arms, filters, and wash assemblies to restore proper cleaning action.

Wet dishes at the end of a cycle is not automatically a fault

Premium dishwashers move away from exposed heating elements for drying, which is quieter and gentler on plastics but leaves more residual moisture — particularly on plastic items, which hold less heat than glass or ceramic. Before booking a repair, check whether the behaviour changed or has always been this way.

Drainage complaints are usually upstream of the dishwasher

A blocked air gap, a kinked drain hose or a disposal that was installed without the knockout plug removed will stop a perfectly healthy dishwasher from draining. These are quick to check and worth ruling out first. See garbage disposal repair.

Parts are not shared with the volume brands

Cove does not run on Whirlpool or Bosch platforms. Components are ordered rather than carried, so expect a lead time on anything beyond a seal or a rack part — and expect us to tell you that before you commit.

Deciding whether a Cove unit is still worth fixing? Our repair-or-replace guide names the one repair that ends each appliance — and on a built-in that line sits much further out.

Cove repair — frequently asked questions

Who makes Cove?

Cove is part of the Sub-Zero group, alongside Sub-Zero refrigeration and Wolf cooking. It was introduced in 2018 and makes dishwashers only.

Why are my dishes still wet?

Often it is the drying design rather than a fault, especially on plastics. If drying used to be better and got worse, that is a different matter and worth a look.

Can a general appliance company service a Cove?

Many have not seen one. The line is small and recent, and the parts are not shared with the volume brands — which matters both for diagnosis and for sourcing.

Related brands

Cove usually shares a kitchen with these, and we service them too: Sub-Zero, Wolf.
