Thermador Appliance Repair

Thermador is not a brand you hand to a generalist. A Pro Grand range carries dual-fuel control boards, a convection system per cavity, and Star Burners tuned to a simmer most ranges cannot hold.

A Freedom Induction Cooktop is a single sensing surface, not four elements. When one of these fails, the diagnosis lives in the brand's own architecture — and a technician who has never opened one will spend your money learning.

FlexFul services the full Thermador line across the Chicagoland suburbs from our base in Lincolnshire.

The Thermador line we service

Ranges and rangetops

Pro Harmony, Pro Grand and the Masterpiece rangetops. Common calls: ignition faults on a single Star Burner, an oven cavity that heats but drifts off setpoint, and dual-fuel models where the gas surface works while the electric oven does not.

Cooktops

Gas Star Burner, electric radiant and the Freedom Induction Cooktop. Gas units bring clogged ports and worn igniters. Induction brings a different class of problem entirely: pan-detection failures, fan noise, and thermal cut-outs triggered by heat under the glass rather than by the cooking surface.

Wall, steam and speed ovens

Masterpiece and Professional series. Door hinge sag, latch failure after self-clean, and control boards that survive normal use but fail following a high-heat cycle. Steam models add a water system: reservoir seals, pumps and scale.

oven repair ›

Built-in refrigeration

Freedom columns and built-in units. Built-in refrigeration is mechanically different from freestanding — the condenser sits in a cabinet with limited airflow, so a dusty condenser or failing evaporator fan shows as uneven temperature long before the compressor is at fault.

refrigerator repair ›

Dishwashers

The Sapphire line and earlier Thermador units. Drainage faults, door seal leaks and, on the quieter models, a failing circulation pump that presents as poor cleaning rather than as noise.

dishwasher repair ›

Ventilation and warming drawers

Blower failure, damper faults, and warming drawer elements that stop holding temperature.

Three Thermador failures worth understanding before you call

Burners, Elements & Ignition Systems — Thermador repair
Burners, Elements & Ignition Systems
Precise testing of gas burners, igniters, electric elements, and spark systems.

A single burner that will not light is rarely the whole cooktop

On Star Burner models the spark module is shared. If one burner clicks and the others do not, the module is usually fine and the fault is local — a fouled electrode, a blocked port, or a loose connection at that burner. Check the burner cap is seated square before booking anything.

An oven that runs cold is usually not the thermostat

Thermador ovens hold temperature with a sensor and a control board working together. A drifting sensor and a failing relay produce similar symptoms, and swapping the cheaper part first is a common way to pay twice. A meter on the sensor circuit settles it in minutes.

Warm built-in refrigeration often has an airflow cause, not a sealed-system cause

Sealed-system work is the expensive end of refrigeration. Before anyone quotes it, the condenser and both fans should be checked — a restricted condenser in a built-in cabinet produces the same warm-compartment symptom for a fraction of the cost.

Deciding whether a Thermador unit is still worth fixing? Our repair-or-replace guide names the one repair that ends each appliance — and on a built-in that line sits much further out.

Thermador repair — frequently asked questions

Do you repair all Thermador appliances?

We service Thermador ranges, rangetops, cooktops, wall ovens, steam and speed ovens, built-in refrigeration, dishwashers, ventilation and warming drawers. If you have a model we cannot service, we will say so on the phone rather than after a visit.

Is it worth repairing a Thermador rather than replacing it?

Usually yes. Thermador appliances are built to be serviced, and replacement cost on a built-in range or refrigeration column is high enough that most faults are worth repairing. Our technician will tell you when a repair does not make economic sense.

Where is the model number on a Thermador?

Inside the door frame on ovens and dishwashers, under the front edge on cooktops, and behind the lower grille on built-in refrigeration. Having it ready shortens the visit.

Thermador usually shares a kitchen with these, and we service them too: Bosch, Gaggenau.
