Whirlpool Appliance Repair
Whirlpool is the volume brand in most American kitchens and laundry rooms, and that is its practical advantage when something breaks: parts are everywhere, and repairs are quick.
The corporate family — Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana and JennAir — shares platforms extensively. A technician who knows the platform can diagnose across all five, and the components are stocked rather than ordered.
Laundry is where most Whirlpool calls originate, and the top-load versus front-load distinction changes the likely fault substantially.
The Whirlpool line we service
Top-load washers
Both agitator and impeller designs. Drain pump failures, lid lock faults and units that will not spin lead the calls.
washer repair ›Front-load washers
Door boot seal wear, drain pump blockages and the odour complaints that come with a sealed door. Most odour issues are maintenance rather than fault.
washer repair ›Dryers, gas and electric
No heat, long cycles and thermal fuse failures. A dryer that runs but will not heat is one of the most common calls we take.
dryer repair ›Refrigerators
French-door, side-by-side and top-freezer. Ice makers, defrost systems and evaporator fans dominate.
refrigerator repair ›Ranges and cooktops
Gas and electric. Ignition faults, bake element failures and control board issues.
range and stove repair ›Dishwashers and microwaves
Drainage faults and door switch failures respectively.

What Whirlpool owners should know
Precision diagnosis of motors, belts, couplers, and transmission components.
A dryer that turns but will not heat is usually a cheap part
The usual suspects are the thermal fuse, the heating element or the thermostat — all inexpensive relative to the machine. Before that, check the vent: a blocked dryer vent causes overheating that blows the fuse in the first place, and replacing the fuse without clearing the vent means doing it again.
Front-load odour is almost always maintenance
The door boot seal traps water and detergent residue. Wiping the seal, leaving the door ajar between loads and running a cleaning cycle resolves most of it. A repair call here is usually unnecessary — though a persistent smell with standing water points at the drain pump.
A washer that will not spin is often the lid lock, not the motor
On top-load machines the lid lock switch tells the control board it is safe to spin. When it fails the machine fills and washes normally and then simply stops — a symptom that reads as a motor failure and usually is not.
Deciding whether a Whirlpool unit is still worth fixing? Our repair-or-replace guide names the one repair that ends each appliance — and on a built-in that line sits much further out.

Whirlpool repair — frequently asked questions
My dryer runs but does not heat. What is it?
Most often the thermal fuse, heating element or thermostat. Have the vent checked at the same time — a blocked vent is what kills fuses, and replacing the part without clearing the blockage means a repeat visit.
Why does my front-load washer smell?
Residue in the door boot seal. Wipe the seal, leave the door ajar between loads and run a cleaning cycle. If the smell persists alongside standing water, the drain pump is worth checking.
Do you stock Whirlpool parts?
Common Whirlpool components are carried on the van. Because the corporate family shares platforms, availability is better than on most premium import brands.
