Viking Appliance Repair
Viking created the professional-style home range, and the design intent still shows: heavy cast components, high burner output, and a build meant to be repaired rather than replaced.
That build is an advantage and a complication. Parts are substantial and serviceable, but the ranges are heavy, deeply installed, and often surrounded by custom cabinetry — the labour on a Viking is frequently about access rather than about the part.
The line spans several generations of controls, and a 1990s Viking and a current one share a look but very little else. The model number matters more here than on most brands.

The generation matters more than the badge
Viking has run through several control platforms and a change of ownership. Two ranges that look alike can share almost no electronics. Have the full model and serial number ready — on Viking it genuinely changes both the diagnosis and the parts.
Heavy grates cause more ignition calls than failed igniters do
The cast grates and burner caps are substantial, and if a cap is not seated flat after cleaning, the spark gap is wrong and the burner will not light. It is worth lifting and reseating before assuming a fault.
Older Vikings are usually worth repairing
The mechanical build outlasts the electronics, and parts availability on the cooking line has held up. Where a repair stops making sense is normally an obsolete control board, and we will tell you when that is the situation.

Viking repair — frequently asked questions
My Viking is from the 1990s. Can it still be repaired?
Often yes — the mechanical parts are robust and many components remain available. Obsolete electronic controls are where it can stop being practical, and we will tell you plainly if that is the case.
The burner clicks but will not light.
Very often the burner cap is not seated flat after cleaning, which changes the spark gap. Lift it and reseat it squarely before booking a visit.
Do you service Viking outdoor grills?
Yes — ignition faults, burner corrosion and uneven heat are the usual calls. Book early in spring if you can; it is a seasonal rush.
